Bunny Love
by Sharon Chinn
A warm and cuddly bunny! Who can resist?
I’ve painted him on a 9.5″ x 12″ wooden heart available from Creative Arts Lifestyle. Or you can adapt this design to a Roclon banner, a box lid, a canvas, or just about any surface of your choice.
Just 11 DecoArt Americana colors are used, and you could easily change the color scheme a bit by simply changing the color of the bow, then use that color in your lettering on the sign and accents.
At the last moment I decided to stencil a pattern of flourishes in the background of the heart using a shade or two darker color than the basecoat for a subtle look. This is totally optional, or you can substitute a different stenciled pattern for a new look.
NOTE! Again, I’m trying something new with this pattern… instead of preparing a line drawing, I’ve included a grayscale image sized to the finished design. You can easily trace as little or as much of the outlines and detail as you wish, but the grayscale also gives a simple view of the value placement. Let me know how this works for you.
Enjoy!
