French Quarter Pigeons
DecoArt Americana Premium Acrylics
by Sharon Chinn
I’m playing catchup on projects so this one is back dated to July. My inspiration for this painting was a photograph I took in the French Quarter of New Orleans. My original photograph has just two pigeons, but I thought it needed more for interest, so I worked in Photoshop to add three.
This design is painted with DecoArt Americana Premium Acrylics, using only 4 basic colors so you could easily adapt it to your favorite brand of paint, either acrylic or oil.
I painted the background with a palette knife to keep it loose with a rough textural look since the building was stucco. The railing and pigeons were painted with brushes.
Pattern includes 12 pages of colored step-by-step photos, supply list, instructions, my original photograph, and line drawings to trace.
